This is a combo of tower defense and clicking genres. There are some aspects that I think are done well, like the upgrade system. Graphics are crisp and rather nice. It's surprisingly charming considering the enemies are buttons, and you're a button.
The pacing is, well... I disliked the pacing. There's a lot of vigorous clicking required, which you can use the keyboard or mouse for. I guess that'll allow you to switch your wrists up occasionally to help them out, but in the end it just became far too repetitive for me at an early pace.
Heck, I didn't finish a single level in my over 30 minutes of playtime. I have no idea how many waves there are supposed to be. Once you complete a wave there's a period of time that you have to make upgrades, move towers, stuff like that - but it feels like it's quite too long before enemies start to show up and you can begin your next wave.
You can place some towers that will earn coins automatically so you don't have to spend as much time clicking, but it still feels like such a long process.. At the end of the level, by death or success I imagine, you earn parts and your level up gauge will move a bit. Levelling up gives you skill points which can be used on various upgrades that carry over into each of your attempts. So, there is a feeling of constant progression which is nice.
Anyway, so the game is obviously not my jam. Tower Defense games are always a tough sell for me, but sometimes they toss something new my way that I haven't seen before. The pacing here is my main turn-off. |
