First, uninstall Google Chrome. It and Shogun2 have shown a dislike for each other.

Then, going to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2 and delete the following folders:

army_setups
battle_preferences
fx_cache
ui_cache
Scripts

Then, uninstall all visual C++ 2005&2008, restart your computer and browse to your Total War: SHOGUN 2 installation folder (Usually C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\total war shogun 2\)

Run the following installers:

...\steamapps\common\total war shogun 2\redist\vcredist_x86.exe

...\steamapps\common\total war shogun 2\redist\vcredist_x86-sp1.exe

...\steamapps\common\total war shogun 2\redist\vcredist_x86_90.exe

1---vcredist_x86_90.exe
2---vcredist_x86.exe
3---vcredist_x86-sp1.exe

Install them in the above order, reboot, and test the issue again.
