威爾遜。P. 海格斯貝瑞 是一名彬彬有禮地科學家。他是遊戲中第一個可使用的玩家角色。目前，他也是唯一可以長出鬍子的角色。
大鬍子

Wilson P. Higgsbury is the Gentleman Scientist. He is the first playable character in Don't Starve. Currently, he is the only character known that can grow a beard.The BeardAs Wilson is the only character that can grow a beard, he is essential in the creation of a Meat Effigy, though a Tent can be used to change characters if need be.Wilson's beard has three stages of growth:
[*]Stage 1: Requires four days to grow, the minimum amount of time required to get any hair from shaving. At this stage, shaving gives you only one Beard Hair.
[*]Stage 2: Requires eight days to grow from no beard. At this stage, shaving gives you three Beard Hair.
[*]Stage 3: Requires sixteen days to grow from no beard. This is the final stage of growth, and the beard will no longer grow after day sixteen. At this stage, shaving gives you nine Beard Hair.
The beard can be shaved off using a Razor after its fourth day of growth.Did you know

She is also the first playable female character.Willow likes fire and appears to have an increased mining speed. When submerged in 100% darkness, once you hear the night monster, a small fire lights at her feet. You hear so much of it Willow sometimes says ¨What was that?¨.This can catch anything flammable on fire (instant forest killer) and is a resource-free way of surviving nights.As Willow, you don't even need to light one fire all night. Once your passive fire extinguishes, another will take its place once you hear the night monster, making campfires only good for cooking food and saving your piggy friends.

Her ability is quite fickle: at dusk, there is a chance that her late twin sister, Abigail, will spawn beside you. This can be very problematic, for if you're idle at dusk and Abigail spawns, she will hurt you. Only while moving as she spawns can you avoid this problem.Despite the fact that Wendy's ability can hurt and kill you, it is quite useful. During the night, Abigail will fight for you by attacking any hostile mobs in the area. She cannot be harmed and hurts anything she touches (including you, as said before). However, Abigail does try and keep her distance from you.

Currently, Maxwell is not seen anywhere in the game beyond his first appearance.In the introduction to each new game file, Maxwell says the following two lines:"Say pal, you don't look so good.""You better find something to eat before night comes!"
