曾几何时（是相当长的一段时间），“二战”是游戏界上最炙手可热的题材。这个题材到底是由什么游戏开始做起的，因为本人的游戏年龄太浅，所以就不得而知了。但我知道，COD绝对是其中做得最出色的游戏。当时还有一大堆出色的二战题材游戏，如MOH（荣誉勋章）系列、兄弟连系列、盟军敢死队系列等等。但都难掩COD系列的光芒，因为COD1和COD2都是那么出色的（当时来说算出色了）把二战的壮观与残酷，展现在玩家的面前。COD系列的“二战游戏王者”的形象已经深入民心。其他游戏就算做得再好，也已经很难再窃取COD的成果了。

到了后来，当大家都争先恐后的推出二战题材游戏的时候。COD却以一种全世界都猜不着的姿态，突然放弃二战题材，转为现代战争。结果玩家的眼镜突然就一阵亮光，COD4雄起了。
COD4的辉煌，其他竞争对手看在眼里，于是又纷纷放弃二战题材，大家都打起了“科技战”。一起来斗“现代化”，现在甚至斗起了“未来化”。但无论它们做得再出色，也照样还是难掩COD系列的光芒，因为COD4和COD6也曾经那么出色的把现代战争展现在玩家面前，COD系列这时的“现代战争游戏王者”的形象也同样已经深入民心。其他游戏就
